Accountant

An established, close-knit accountancy practice is seeking a confident and capable Accountant who can step straight into a varied, hands-on role. Working within a small team, the successful candidate will take ownership of preparing accounts, bookkeeping and VAT returns. The position offers the chance to work closely with a supportive team, build strong client relationships and enjoy genuine stability and low staff turnover.

What we are looking for
The ideal candidate will be ACCA qualified or almost qualified, with solid experience within a practice environment. Someone who can confidently handle a portfolio of sole traders and limited companies, prepare accounts independently, and liaise directly with clients to manage queries.
Experience using Xero, Sage and Iris is highly desirable, as is the ability to hit the ground running. Strong communication skills, accuracy and a proactive approach are essential.
