Bookkeeper – Leading Accountancy Firm

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Bookkeeper to join a fast-growing, forward-thinking accountancy practice based in Bexhill. This is a fantastic chance to become part of a friendly and professional team that provides exceptional support to a wide range of businesses and individuals across Sussex.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Managing bookkeeping duties for a portfolio of clients using software such as Xero, QuickBooks, FreeAgent and ClearBooks
• Assisting clients with bookkeeping and software queries
• Liaising with clients to ensure all records are completed and VAT returns are submitted on time
• Completing and filing VAT and CIS returns
• Preparing schedules, reports and reconciliations up to trial balance

This full-time position is with flexibility to consider part-time arrangements (minimum 30 hours / 4 days per week). Hybrid working may be available, with up to 2 days per week from home.

The ideal candidate will:

• Have well-rounded bookkeeping knowledge and experience
• Be familiar with cloud bookkeeping software
• Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills
• Be tech-savvy and confident working in a modern, digital accounting environment
