About the role
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Legal Assistant to join a friendly and growing law firm based in the heart of Brighton. This Legal Assistant position will support a busy Residential or Commercial Property team, working closely with experienced fee earners and solicitors within a modern and supportive environment.

This is an ideal opportunity for a Legal Assistant with at least 1 year of experience who is looking to build a long-term legal career within property law, with genuine opportunities for progression and internal promotion.
The successful Legal Assistant will play a key role in ensuring transactions progress smoothly while delivering outstanding support to both clients and the wider legal team.

Key responsibilities

  • Providing administrative support to the Residential or Commercial Property team
  • Assisting fee earners with the progression of conveyancing transactions
  • Preparing and drafting legal documentation and correspondence
  • Opening and closing client files in line with compliance procedures
  • Submitting applications and documentation to HM Land Registry
  • Managing diaries, appointments and meetings
  • Liaising with clients, estate agents, lenders and solicitors
  • Handling telephone and email enquiries professionally and efficiently
  • Preparing contract packs and supporting documentation
  • Maintaining accurate records and updating internal systems
  • Supporting with private client documentation including Wills and LPAs where required
  • Assisting with post-completion matters and file administration

What we are looking for

  • Previous experience working as a Legal Assistant within property law
  • At least 1 year of legal administration or conveyancing support experience
  • Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Confident communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to manage workloads and prioritise effectively
  • A proactive and professional approach
  • Law degree desirable but not essential
  • Enthusiastic team player looking to grow within a supportive firm
