Accounts Senior – Tonbridge

A fantastic opportunity has become available for an experienced Accounts Senior to join a progressive and expanding accountancy practice in Tonbridge.
This position would suit a practice professional who enjoys working closely with clients, preparing statutory accounts and tax returns, and supporting the development of junior team members.

The successful Accounts Senior will be joining a friendly, collaborative team with genuine opportunities for long-term career progression.

About the role
As an Accounts Senior, responsibilities will include:

• Preparing year-end statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders
• Preparing corporation tax returns and supporting tax computations
• Preparing self-assessment tax returns
• Managing a portfolio of clients across a variety of sectors
• Reviewing bookkeeping and VAT work completed by junior team members
• Preparing management accounts where required
• Liaising directly with clients to provide advice and resolve queries
• Assisting clients with accounting software and cloud accounting systems
• Supporting and mentoring junior members of the accounts team
• Identifying opportunities to improve client processes and efficiencies
• Ensuring compliance deadlines are met
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships

This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of client work while developing leadership and management skills.
What we are looking for

• Previous experience working within an accountancy practice environment
• Strong experience preparing year-end accounts and tax returns
• AAT qualified, ACA/ACCA part-qualified or qualified by experience
• Good technical accounting knowledge
• Strong client communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively
• High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
• Positive, professional and proactive approach
• Desire to progress within a growing firm
